HENCE, [remember how it was] when thy Sustainer summoned Moses: "Go unto those evil doing people. 10 The people of Firon: Will they not guard (against evil)? 11 He replied, "Lord, I am afraid that they will call me a liar. 12 My heart is constrained, my tongue falters, so delegate Aaron; 13 And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me." 14 [Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening. 15 “Therefore approach Firaun then proclaim, ‘We both are Noble Messengers of the Lord Of The Creation.’ 16 Then send with us the children of Israel. 17 Said Firaun, “Did we do not raise you amongst us, as a child? And you spent many years of your life among us!” 18 "And you did your deed, which you did (i.e. the crime of killing a man). And you are one of the ingrates." 19 Said he, 'Indeed I did it then, being one of those that stray; 20 so I fled from you, fearing you. But my Lord gave me Judgment and made me one of the Envoys. 21 That is a blessing thou reproachest me with, having enslaved the Children of Israel.' 22 Said Firaun, “And what is the Lord Of The Creation? 23 Moses replied, "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you want to be certain". 24 (Pharaoh) said to those around: "Did ye not listen (to what he says)?" 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers. 26 (Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman! 27 (Moses) said: "Lord of the East and the West, and all between! if ye only had sense!" 28 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "If you choose an ilah (god) other than me, I will certainly put you among the prisoners." 29 He said: Even though I show thee something plain? 30 Pharaoh said, "Show it then, if you are telling the truth!" 31 So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest. 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
