And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people - 10 The people of Fir'awn; fear they Me not? 11 He said, “My Lord, I fear that they will deny me.” 12 “I feel hesitant, and my tongue does not speak fast, therefore make Haroon also a Noble Messenger.” 13 “And they have an accusation against me, so I fear that they may kill me.” 14 [Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening. 15 Then come to Firon and say: Surely we are the apostles of the Lord of the worlds: 16 (Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us. 17 (Pharaoh) said (unto Moses): Did we not rear thee among us as a child? And thou didst dwell many years of thy life among us, 18 and you did the deed which you did. You are certainly ungrateful." 19 He said: I did it then while I was of those unable to see the right course; 20 Then I ran away from you in fear, but my Lord granted me the law and has appointed me as a Messenger. 21 And this is the favor with which you oblige me: You have made the Israelites your slaves. 22 Pharaoh said: "And who is this Lord of the Universe?" 23 He said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between, if ye seek to be convinced. 24 Said he to those about him, 'Do you not hear?' 25 He said: your Lord and the Lord of your ancient fathers. 26 Said he: Most surely your Apostle who is sent to you is mad. 27 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the East and the Lord of the West and all that lies between them, if you have sense." 28 'If you take any other god except myself' he (Pharaoh) replied, 'you shall be thrown into prison' 29 Said he: "Even if I should bring about before thee something that clearly shows the truth?" 30 He (Pharaoh) replied: 'Show us your sign, if you are of the truthful' 31 So (Moses) threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)! 32 Then he drew out his hand, and it was luminous to the onlookers. 33
