And recount to them the story of Abraham: 69 When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?” 70 They said, “We worship idols, and we keep squatting in seclusion before them.” 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 Or do they benefit or harm you? 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 He said, “Do you see these (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 "Ye and your fathers before you?- 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 Who created me and Who guides me; 78 And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 “And He will give me death, then resurrect me.” 81 “And the One Who, upon Whom I pin my hopes, will forgive me my mistakes on the Day of Judgement.” 82 (And then Abraham prayed): "My Lord, endow me with knowledge and wisdom and join me with the righteous, 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 and make me of those who will inherit the Garden of Bliss, 85 And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err. 86 "And let me not be in disgrace on the Day when (men) will be raised up;- 87 The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children 88 Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart. 89 "To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 And it shall be said to them: Where are those that you used to worship; 92 Instead of Allah? Can they help you or help themselves? 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 and Satan's legions, all together. 95 "They will say there in their mutual bickerings: 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 when we considered you equal to the Lord of the Universe. 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 So none we have as intercessors. 100 nor any loving friend. 101 “So if only were we to go back, in order to become Muslims!” 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 Surely, Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
