'Aad denied the messengers 123 When their brother Hud said unto them: fear ye not? 124 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 125 Fear Allah and obey me. 126 And I ask of you no wage therefor; my wage is the concern only of the Lord of the Worlds. 127 Build ye on every high place a monument for vain delight? 128 And seek ye out strongholds, that haply ye may last for ever? 129 And when you strike, you strike as tyrants. 130 So be fearful of God and follow me. 131 And fear He who provided you with that which you know, 132 "Freely has He bestowed on you cattle and sons,- 133 "And gardens and springs. 134 Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a dreadful Day' 135 They said, "It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors. 136 your preaching is nothing but ancient legends and we shall not face any torment". 137 And we are not going to be tormented. 138 And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 139 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 140
