The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 When their brother Hood said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 124 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 125 "So fear Allah and obey me. 126 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists). 127 Do you build on every height a monument? Vain is it that you do: 128 And you make strong fortresses that perhaps you may 129 And when you strike, you strike as tyrants. 130 So fear Allah, and obey me. 131 And fear Him Who hath aided you with that which ye know. 132 "Freely has He bestowed on you cattle and sons,- 133 gardens and fountains. 134 Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a dreadful Day' 135 They replied: 'It is the same to us whether you admonish or whether you are not one of the admonishers. 136 "This is no other than a customary device of the ancients, 137 They rejected him and We destroyed them. 138 So they rejected him; and We destroyed them. There is certainly a sign in that; but most of them would not believe. 139 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 140
