Samood gave the lie to the apostles 141 When their brother Salih said to them, "Will you not fear God? 142 I am a trustworthy Messengers sent to you. 143 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 144 "No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 145 “Will you be left peacefully in these favours over here?” 146 "In gardens and springs. 147 farms, and palm-trees in thick groves, 148 You hew dwellings in mountains and exult in that. 149 So fear Allah and obey me. 150 "And follow not the command of Al-Musrifun [i.e. their chiefs, leaders who were polytheists, criminals and sinners], 151 Who make mischief in the land and do not act aright. 152 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 153 You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful." 154 He said: yonder is a she-camel; to her a drink, and to you a drink, each on a day known. 155 And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day." 156 So they hamstrung her, and in the morning could only regret. 157 But the Penalty seized them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 158 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 159
