[AND the tribe of] Thamud gave the lie to [one of God's] message-hearers 141 Their brother Salih asked them, "Why do you not fear God? 142 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 143 So fear Allah and obey me. 144 And I ask of you no hire therefor; MY hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 145 "Will you be left secure in that which you have here? 146 amidst gardens and fountains, 147 And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit? 148 carving comfortable houses out of the mountains? 149 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me; 150 “And do not follow those who exceed the limits.” 151 "Who make mischief in the land, and reform not." 152 Said they: "Thou art but one of the bewitched! 153 You are only a human being like ourselves. Show us a sign, if you are telling the truth." 154 He said, “This is the she-camel – one day shall be her turn to drink, and on the other appointed day, shall be your turn.” 155 And touch her not with ill, lest there take hold of you the torment of a Mighty Day. 156 But they hamstrung her; and on the morrow were repentant, 157 But the Penalty seized them. Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 158 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 159

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
