The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 And We showered a rain upon them; so what a wretched rain for those who were warned! 173 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 174 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 175
