The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear God? 161 I am for you a faithful Messenger, 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 “And leave the wives your Lord has created for you? In fact you are people who exceed the limits.” 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 My Lord, deliver me and my family from their wicked deeds." 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 We rained upon them a rain, and evil is the rain (of stones) on those that are warned. 173 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
