The dwellers of the thicket gave the lie to the apostles. 176 When Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 177 I am for you a faithful Messenger, so fear you God, and obey you me. 178 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 179 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and be not of those who cause others to lose. 181 And weigh (things) with a right balance, 182 and do not defraud people in their property or spread evil in the land. 183 Fear Him who created you, and the generations of the ancients.' 184 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 “Therefore cause a part of the sky to fall upon us, if you are of the truthful.” 187 He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." 188 But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day. 189 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 190 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 191
