Indeed this is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe; 192 Which the trustworthy Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down; 193 To (communicate) to your heart that you may be a warner 194 In the plain Arabic language. 195 Its news was also mentioned in the ancient Books. 196 Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it? 197 Had We revealed it to any one of the non-Arabs, 198 And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it. 199 We have thus caused denial of truth to enter into the hearts of the sinners: 200 They will not believe in it to the extent that they see the painful punishment. 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 The satans have not revealed the Quran; 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 Most surely they are far removed from the hearing of it. 212 Therefor invoke not with Allah another god, lest thou be one of the doomed. 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee. 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 and place thy trust in the Almighty, the Dispenser of Grace, 217 who sees you when you stand up [for prayer], 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 Surely, He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every lying (one who tells lies), sinful person. 222 Who listens to you (for spreading rumours); but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, the erring follow them, 224 Have you not seen how they wander in every valley, 225 And they say what they do not do, 226 The righteously striving believers among them who remember God very often and use their talent to seek help after they have been wronged are the exceptional. The unjust will soon know how terrible their end will be. 227
