And this Qur'an is a revelation from the Lord of all the worlds, 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 This is indicated in the Books of earlier people. 196 Is not the fact (that the Israelite scholars already knew about the Quran through their Book) sufficient evidence for the pagans of the truthfulness (of the Quran)? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 So that he should have recited it to them, they would not have believed therein. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it till they behold the painful doom, 201 But when it comes upon them suddenly, taking them unawares, 202 Then they will say: "Shall we be respited?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 204 Do you not see that even if We give them respite for years 205 And then the promise that is given to them, does come upon them- 206 of what avail to them will be all their past enjoyments? 207 And We destroyed no township but it had its warners 208 As a reminder; and never have We been unjust. 209 Not by the Satans has it been brought down; 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 Verily, they have been removed far from hearing it. 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 And warn your nearest relations, 214 And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you. 215 If they disobey you, say, "I bear no responsibility for what you do." 216 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you get up, 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every sinful, false one. 222 The satans try to listen to the heavens but many of them are liars. 223 Only the erring people follow the poets. 224 Did you not see that they keep wandering in every valley? 225 preaching what they do not practice. 226 except those who believed and acted righteously and remembered Allah much, and when they themselves were subjected to wrong, they exacted retribution no more than to the extent of the wrong? Soon will the wrong-doers know the end that they shall reach. 227
