And the disbelievers said, “Will we, when we and our forefathers have turned into dust, be removed again?” 67 It was promised to us and to our fathers before us. It is only ancient legends." 68 Say: "Go ye through the earth and see what has been the end of those guilty (of sin)." 69 And grieve you not for them, nor be straitened (in distress) because of what they plot. 70 Yet they say: "When will this promise come to pass? (Tell Us) if you speak the truth." 71 Say, "Perhaps it is close behind you - some of that for which you are impatient. 72 Verily your Lord is gracious to men, though most men are ungrateful. 73 And most surely your Lord knows what their breasts conceal and what they manifest. 74 All the secrets in heavens and earth are recorded in the illustrious Book. 75 Indeed this Qur'an explains to the children of Israel much of what they are at variance. 76 And lo! it is a guidance and a mercy for believers. 77 Verily thy Lord will decide between them by His Decree: and He is Exalted in Might, All-Knowing. 78 Trust in God for you follow the manifest truth. 79 Surely you do not make the dead to hear, and you do not make the deaf to hear the call when they go back retreating. 80 just as thou canst not lead the blind [of heart] out of their error; none canst thou make hear save such as [are willing to] believe in Our messages, and thus surrender themselves unto Us. 81 ۞ And when the word shall come to pass against them, We shall bring forth for them a creature from the earth that shall wound them, because people did not believe in Our communications. 82
