The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif Lam Mim. 1 Do men think they will get away by saying: "We believe," and will not be tried? 2 We had certainly tried those who lived before them to make sure who were truthful in their faith and who were liars. 3 Or do those who do evil deeds think they can outrun Us? Evil is what they judge. 4 He who hopes to meet Allah (must know) that the term of Allah is coming. He is the Hearer, the Knower. 5 And whoever strives hard, he strives only for his own soul; most surely Allah is Self-sufficient, above (need of) the worlds. 6 And those who believe, and do righteous deeds, We shall surely acquit them of their evil deeds, and shall recompense them the best of what they were doing. 7 And upon man We ordained kindness towards parents; and if they strive to make you ascribe a partner with Me, about which you do not have any knowledge, then do not obey them; towards Me only is your return and I will tell you what you used to do. 8 And (as for) those who believe and do good, We will most surely cause them to enter among the good. 9 And among men is he who says: We believe in Allah; but when he is persecuted in (the way of) Allah he thinks the persecution of men to be as the chastisement of Allah; and if there come assistance from your Lord, they would most certainly say: Surely we were with you. What! is not Allah the best knower of what is in the breasts of mankind. 10 And Allah most certainly knows those who believe, and as certainly those who are Hypocrites. 11 The unbelievers say to the believers, 'Follow our path, and let us carry your offences'; yet they cannot carry anything, even of their own offences; they are truly liars. 12 They shall certainly carry their loads, and other loads along with their loads, and upon the Day of Resurrection they shall surely be questioned concerning that they were forging. 13
