Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif Lam Mim. 1 These are the verses of the Book of wisdom. 2 A guidance and mercy for the righteous 3 who are constant in prayer and dispense charity: for it is they, they who in their innermost are certain of the life to come! 4 It is they who are on true guidance from their Lord, and it is they who shall prosper. 5 There are some people who would purchase distracting talk, to lead astray from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and take it in mockery; for those is a humiliating punishment. 6 And when Our revelations are recited unto him he turneth away in his stiff-neckedness as though he heard them not: as though there was a deafness in his ears. So announce thou unto him a torment afflictive. 7 (As for) those who believe and do good, they shall surely have gardens of bliss, 8 wherein they will abide forever. That is God's true promise; He is the Mighty, the Wise One. 9 He [it is who] has created the skies without any supports that you could see, and has placed firm mountains upon the earth, lest it sway with you, and has caused all manner of living creatures to multiply thereon. And We send down water from the skies, and thus We cause every noble kind [of life] to grow on earth. 10 This is God's creation; now show me what those have created that are apart from Him! Nay, but the evildoers are in manifest error. 11
