It is neither your riches nor your children that shall bring you close in nearness to Us, except he who believes and does good work. For those their awaits a double recompense for their deeds, they shall live in safety in their lofty chambers. 37 And those who endeavour to frustrate Our signs, unto the torment they will be brought. 38 Say, "It is my Lord who determines and increases the sustenance of whomever He wants. He will replace whatever you spend for His cause and He is the best Sustainer." 39 And on the day when He will gather them all together, then will He say to the angels: Did these worship you? 40 They will say, "Glory to Thee! our (tie) is with Thee - as Protector - not with them. Nay, but they worshipped the Jinns: most of them believed in them." 41 But today you do not hold for one another [the power of] benefit or harm, and We will say to those who wronged, "Taste the punishment of the Fire, which you used to deny." 42 And when Our Clear Verses are recited to them, they say: "This (Muhammad SAW) is naught but a man who wishes to hinder you from that which your fathers used to worship." And they say: "This is nothing but an invented lie." And those who disbelieve say of the truth when it has come to them (i.e. Prophet Muhammad SAW when Allah sent him as a Messenger with proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, etc.): "This is nothing but evident magic!" 43 We did not send to them, (the pagans), any books to study nor a Messenger to warn them, and those who lived before them had rejected the Truth. 44 And those before them belied; and these have not arrived unto a tithe of that which We vouchsafed unto them. But they belied My apostles. So how terrible was My disapproval 45
