And a sign for them is the dead land, that We quickened and brought forth from it grain, whereof they eat; 33 And We place therein gardens of the date-palms and vines; and We therein cause to gush forth springs. 34 that they might eat of its fruits and their hands' labour. What, will they not be thankful? 35 All glory to Him who created pairs of everything that grows from the earth, and out of themselves, and other things they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip it of the day and lo, they are in darkness. 37 And the sun -- it runs to a fixed resting-place; that is the ordaining of the All-mighty, the All-knowing. 38 And the moon -- We have determined it by stations, till it returns like an aged palm-bough. 39 It is not for the sun to overtake the moon, nor does the night outstrip the day. They all float, each in an orbit. 40 Another Sign for them is that We carried all their offspring in the laden vessel 41 And We made similar vessels for them to ride. 42 If it were Our will, We could drown them: then there would be no helper [to hear their cry], nor could they be saved. 43 Unless it be a mercy from Us, and as an enjoyment for a while. 44 And when it is said to them: Guard against what is before you and what is behind you, that mercy may be had on you. 45 and whenever a revelation out of their Lord's revelations comes to them, they ignore it. 46 And when it is said to them: Spend out of what Allah has given you, those who disbelieve say to those who believe: Shall we feed him whom, if Allah please, He could feed? You are in naught but clear error. 47 They say: “When will this threat (of Resurrection) come to pass? Tell us if indeed you are truthful.” 48 They wait not for aught but a single cry which will overtake them while they yet contend with one another. 49 and so [sudden will be their end that] no testament will they be able to make, - nor to their own people will they return! 50
