And a sign for them is the dead land. We gave it life, and We brought forth from it grains, so that they eat thereof. 33 And there We made gardens of palms and vines, and in it We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof, and their hands made it not. Will they not, then, give thanks? 35 Glory be to Him Who created pairs of all things, of what the earth grows, and of their kind and of what they do not know. 36 A token unto them is night. We strip it of the day, and lo! they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runneth to its appointed term: that is the disposition of the Mighty, the Knowing. 38 And We have appointed positions for the moon till it returns like an old branch of the date palm. 39 how the sun is not supposed to catch-up with the moon, nor is the night to precede the day. All of them are to float in a certain orbit; 40 And a Sign for them is that We bore their race (through the Flood) in the loaded Ark; 41 We have created for them the like of it in which they ride. 42 We could have drowned them if We pleased, and none would have answered their cry for help, nor would they have been saved, 43 Except as a mercy from Us and provision for a time. 44 And when it is said to them, 'Fear what is before you and what is behind you; haply you will find mercy' -- 45 Yet there never comes to them any sign of their Lord's signs, but they turn away from it. 46 And when they are told, "Spend ye of (the bounties) with which Allah has provided you," the Unbelievers say to those who believe: "Shall we then feed those whom, if Allah had so willed, He would have fed, (Himself)? Ye are in nothing but manifest error." 47 And they say: When will this threat come to pass, if you are truthful? 48 They await but one Shout, which will surprise them while they are disputing. 49 And they will not be able [to give] any instruction, nor to their people can they return. 50
