The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). 1 and restraining [from evil] by a call to restraint, 2 And by oath of the groups that read the Qur’an. 3 Verily, verily, your Allah is one!- 4 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, and Lord of the easts. 5 We have decked the lower heavens with stars 6 a protection against every rebel satan; 7 These satans cannot listen to what transpires in the High Council for they are pelted away from every side 8 And kept far away. There is perpetual punishment for them, 9 But if anyone does succeed in snatching a glimpse [of such knowledge], he shall be pursued by a piercing flame. 10 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay. 11 Nay, but whereas thou dost marvel, they [only] scoff; 12 And when they are reminded, they mind not, 13 When they see a sign, they laugh at it, 14 And say: "This is only magic. 15 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then certainly be raised, 16 Or our fathers of yore? 17 Say (O Muhammad): Ye, in truth; and ye will be brought low. 18 It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing. 19 And they shall say: O woe to us! this is the day of requital. 20 This is the day of the judgment which you called a lie. 21
