In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the rangers ranging 1 By those (angels) who drive the clouds in a good way. 2 Then those who recite, being mindful, 3 your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth, and of what between them is Lord of the Easts. 5 Behold, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with the beauty of stars, 6 a protection against every rebel satan; 7 so they cannot listen to the High Assembly, for they are pelted from every side. 8 driven away, and will suffer eternal punishment. 9 Except those who eavesdrop and are pursued by a shooting flame. 10 Just ask their opinion: are they the more difficult to create, or the (other) beings We have created? Them have We created out of a sticky clay! 11 No, you marvel, while they scoff. 12 And they do not understand, when explained to. 13 and whenever they see some sign, they ridicule it, 14 And they say, “This is nothing but clear magic.” 15 “When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we certainly be raised again?” 16 And our forefathers? 17 Tell them: “Yes; and you are utterly helpless (against Allah).” 18 So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see. 19 And they shall say: O woe to us! this is the day of requital. 20 (It will be said): "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny." 21

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. (5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
