۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 They will turn upon one another, and question one another. 27 They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the truth). 28 They will say, "No! It was you who would not believe -- 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 "We led you astray: for truly we were ourselves astray." 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 For when it was said unto them, There is no Allah save Allah, they were scornful 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 In fact, he had brought them the truth and had acknowledged the Messengers (who were sent before him). 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 But the bondmen of Allah, the sincere ones 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 fruits. And they are receivers of generosity 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 seated on couches, facing one another. 44 With cups from a flowing stream being passed around, 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 And with them are those who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, the maidens with gorgeous eyes. 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 50 One of them speaks thus: "Behold, I had [on earth] a close companion 51 "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 52 Shall we be recompensed for our deeds after we die and become bones and dust? 53 He says, 'Are you looking down?' 54 Then he looked down and saw him in the midst of hell. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 But for Allah's favour, I should be one of those who have been mustered here. 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 “Except our earlier death, and nor will we be punished?” 59 Lo! this is the supreme triumph. 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 Surely We have made it to be a trial to the unjust. 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 Its crop is as it were the heads of devils 65 and they [who are lost in evil] are indeed bound to eat thereof, and to fill their bellies therewith. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 They found their fathers had gone astray; 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 yet before them most of the ancients went astray, 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 Look, then how was the end of those who had been warned, 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
