۞ (Then will the command be given): “Muster all the wrong-doers and their spouses and the deities whom they used to serve 22 apart from Allah, and direct them to the path of Hell, 23 and stop them there for questioning: 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers, 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 But now our Lord's word has come true against us: truly, we are bound to taste [the punishment]. 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 Surely thus do We deal with the guilty. 34 Indeed, when it was said to them, “There is no God except Allah”, they were haughty. 35 And to say: What! shall we indeed give up our gods for the sake of a mad poet? 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement, 38 And you will be requited nothing except for what you used to do (evil deeds, sins, and Allah's disobedience which you used to do in this world); 39 Save single-minded slaves of Allah; 40 [in the hereafter,] theirs shall be a sustenance which they will recognize 41 as the fruits [of their life on earth]; and honoured shall they be 42 In Gardens of Felicity, 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 A cup from a gushing spring is brought round for them, 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 Neither they will have Ghoul (any kind of hurt, abdominal pain, headache, a sin, etc.) from that, nor will they suffer intoxication therefrom. 47 And with them will be chaste females, restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands), with wide and beautiful eyes. 48 Like sheltered eggs in a nest. 49 Then shall some of them advance to others, questioning each other. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 Who used to say: 'Are you one of those who can testify to the truth? 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 Do you want to see him?' " 54 Then he will look down and see him in the midst of the Flaming Fire. 55 And he will say: by Allah, thou hadst wellnigh causedest me to perish. 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 Then he will say [to his blessed companions], "Are we not going to die, 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 Surely this is the supreme triumph. 60 For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive. 61 Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)? 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 (Zaqqum) is a tree which grows from the deepest part of hell, 64 Its spathes are like the prickly pear. 65 They will eat from it and fill their bellies with it; 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 Then surely their return is towards hell. 68 for, behold, they found their forebears on a wrong way, 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 And truly before them, many of the ancients went astray;- 71 We had certainly sent warners to them. 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
