Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 And We made his descendants those remaining [on the earth] 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace on Noah among all men. 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 When he came to his Lord with a heart compliant, 84 When he said to his father and his people: What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 He then shot a glance at the stars. 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What is wrong with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 So the people descended upon him. 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said: build for him a building and cast him into the flaming fire. 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 When he was old enough to go about with him, he said: "O my son, I dreamt that I was sacrificing you. Consider, what you think?" He replied: "Father, do as you are commanded. If God pleases you will find me firm." 102 So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice), 103 And We called out to him saying: O Ibrahim! 104 thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers. 105 Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial 106 So We ransomed him for a great sacrifice, 107 And We left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 That is how We reward those who do good. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 We gave him the glad news of the birth of Isaac, one of the righteous Prophets. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
