Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers! 75 We saved him and his people from the great distress, 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 "Peace upon Noah among the worlds." 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 Then We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 when he turned to his Sustainer with a heart free of evil, 84 Behold! he said to his father and to his people, "What is that which ye worship? 85 Do you want [to bow down before] a lie - [before] deities other than God? 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 And said: "I am sick (of what you worship)!" 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 What is the matter with you, that you do not speak' 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 and God created you and what you make?' 96 They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!” 97 They had contrived an evil plan against him, but We abased them all. 98 And [Abraham] said: "Verily, I shall [leave this land and] go wherever my Sustainer will guide me!" 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 whereupon We gave him the glad tiding of a boy-child gentle [like himself]? 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 Then when the twain had submitted themselves and he had prostrated him upon his temple. 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 you have fulfilled the dream." It is thus indeed that We reward those who do good, 105 It was certainly an open trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 We gave Abraham the good news of Isaac, a prophet and a righteous man, 112 And We blessed him and Is-haq; and of their offspring are some well-doers and some who wrong themselves manifestly. 113
