And indeed Nooh prayed to Us – so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 We left mention of him among later generations. 78 Peace be upon Noah among all the peoples! 79 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 80 For he was one of our believing Servants. 81 Then We drowned the disbelievers. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 He turned to his Lord with a sound heart 84 "Behold!" he said to his father and to his people, "What are these that you worship? 85 Why do you solicit false gods instead of God? 86 What think you then of the Lord of all Being?' 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 Then he went quietly to the (temple of the deities) and said: “What is the matter with you, why do you not eat? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 Then he slipped unto them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 when it is God who has created you and all your handiwork?" 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 And they desired a war against him, but We brought them low. 98 He said, "I will go to my Lord: He is sure to guide me. 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son. 101 And when he attained to working with him, he said: O my son! surely I have seen in a dream that I should sacrifice you; consider then what you see. He said: O my father! do what you are commanded; if Allah please, you will find me of the patient ones. 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 We called out to him: "O Abraham, 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 and left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 Even so We recompense the good-doers; 110 truly, he was one of Our faithful servants. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among their descendants are some who do good, but some who wrong themselves. 113
