Verily We bestowed Our favours on Moses and Aaron 114 and We delivered them and their people from the great distress. 115 And helped them, so they were victorious. 116 And We gave them the clear Scripture 117 And showed them the straight path, 118 and We left them thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among later generations: 119 Salamun (peace) be upon Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)!" 120 Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 121 Indeed, they were of Our believing servants. 122 Surely, Elias too was among the Messengers. 123 when he said to his people, 'Will you not be godfearing? 124 Will ye cry unto Baal and forsake the Best of creators, 125 God, your Lord, and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients?' 126 but they rejected him, and thus will certainly be called to account; 127 except Allah's chosen servants. 128 And we left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 129 "Peace and salutation to such as Elias!" 130 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers, who perform good deeds totally for Allah's sake only - see V. 2:112). 131 Lo! he is one of our believing slaves. 132 And lo! Lot verily was of those sent (to warn). 133 We rescued him and his whole family, 134 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 135 and then We utterly destroyed the others: 136 and you pass by them in the morning 137 And at night; do you not then understand? 138
