And We verily gave grace unto Moses and Aaron, 114 and We saved them and their people from the awesome calamity [of bondage,] 115 And We helped them, so they were the vanquishers. 116 And We gave them the divine writ that made [right and wrong] distinct, 117 And guided them to the Right Path; 118 And We left for them among the later folk (the salutation): 119 Peace be unto Moses and Aaron! 120 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 121 truly they were among Our faithful servants. 122 So also was Elias among those sent (by Us). 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not be mindful of God? 124 Would you call on Baal and leave the best of creators, 125 "Allah, your Lord and Cherisher and the Lord and Cherisher of your fathers of old?" 126 In response they denied him, so they will surely be brought forth as captives. 127 except the sincere servants of God. 128 We left him thus to be succeeded by a group [of followers] among the following generations -- 129 Peace be on Ilyas. 130 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 131 He is truly among Our faithful devotees. 132 Lot was also one of the messengers. 133 Behold, We delivered him and his adherents, all 134 Except an old woman (his wife) who was among those who remained behind. 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine].
