Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy. 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ But We threw him on a wide bare tract of land while he was ill; 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 We sent him as a messenger to a hundred thousand people or more, 147 They believed in him so We granted them enjoyment for an appointed time. 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 Have We created the angels as females before their very eyes? 150 Is it not that they say, from their own invention, 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 Does He prefer sons to daughters? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Will you not then remember? 155 Or have you clear evidence? 156 Then bring ye your Book (of authority) if ye be truthful! 157 They assert kinship between Him and the angels. But the angels know that they (the liars) will be arraigned (in Hell). 158 (They say): “Exalted be Allah above what they attribute to Him, 159 Not thus, however, [behave] God's true servants: 160 Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.) 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 Except those who are predestined to burn in Hell! 163 There is not one of us but hath his known position. 164 Verily we range ourselves in rows (as humble servants) 165 we are they that give glory. 166 Even though they (unbelievers) say, 167 “If only we had the Reminder which had been granted to the people of yore 168 “We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.” 169 But (now that the Quran has come) they disbelieve therein (i.e. in the Quran and in Prophet Muhammad SAW, and all that which he brought, the Divine Revelation), so they will come to know! 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned! 177 So turn (O Muhammad SAW) away from them for a while, 178 And see, for they are going to see. 179 Exaltations be to your Lord, the Lord of Might, above that they describe! 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 It is only God, the Lord of the Universe, who deserves all praise. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
