Hizb 46

Jonah, too, was one of the Messengers. 139 when he fled like a runaway slave onto a laden ship. 140 cast lots, and was among the losers. 141 And a fish swallowed him, and he was reproaching himself. 142 Had it not been that he (repented and) glorified Allah, 143 He would certainly have remained inside the Fish till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ Then We cast him on a bare desert whilst he was sick. 145 And We caused a plant of gourd to grow over him. 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 and [this time] they believed [in him] and so We allowed them to enjoy their life during the time allotted to them? 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 or is it that We have created the angels female, and they [who believe them to be divine] have witnessed [that act of creation]? 150 Lo! verily it is of their falsehood that they say: 151 "Allah has begotten children"? but they are liars! 152 Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? 153 What is the matter with you, how is it that you judge? 154 Will you then not take heed? 155 Or, is there for you a clear warranty 156 Then bring your Book if you are truthful! 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 except the servants of God, sincere and devoted. 160 neither you nor what you worship 161 Ye cannot excite (anyone) against Him. 162 Save him who is to burn in hell. 163 And the angels say, “Each one of us has an appointed known position.” 164 We stand in ranks (for prayer) 165 We glorify God." 166 AND, INDEED, they [who deny the truth] have always been wont to say, 167 Had we a reminder from those of yore, 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 And assuredly Our word hath already gone forth Our bondmen, the sent ones: 171 That they would certainly be assisted, 172 And that Our hosts, they verily would be the victors. 173 So turn (away) from them for a while. 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 Do they, then, [really] wish that Our chastisement be hastened on? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 So turn thou from them for a while, 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Too glorious is your Lord, the Lord of power, for what they ascribe to Him. 180 And peace is upon the Noble Messengers. 181 And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 182
Almighty Allah's Truth.
