Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" 41 (We commanded him): “Stamp your foot on earth, and here is cool water to wash with and to drink.” 42 And We gave to him his family, and the like of them with them, as a mercy from us, and a reminder unto men possessed of minds; 43 [We said], "And take in your hand a bunch [of grass] and strike with it and do not break your oath." Indeed, We found him patient, an excellent servant. Indeed, he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah]. 44 And remember Our slaves, Ibrahim (Abraham), Ishaque (Isaac), and Ya'qub (Jacob), (all) owners of strength (in worshipping Us) and (also) of religious understanding. 45 We distinguished them for the distinct remembrance of the abode (of the Hereafter). 46 And verily they are with us of the elect of the excellent ones. 47 And remember Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhu al-Kifl. All were of the best. 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 Gardens of Eden with gates open wide to them, 50 Therein will they recline (at ease): Therein can they call (at pleasure) for fruit in abundance, and (delicious) drink; 51 ۞ And with them shall be those restraining their eyes, equals in age. 52 Such is the Promise made, to you for the Day of Account! 53 this is Our unending provision' 54 This is for the virtuous; and indeed for the rebellious is a wretched destination. 55 Hell, where they will burn, an evil resting-place. 56 This is for the criminals – so that they may taste it – boiling hot water and pus. 57 and other sufferings of the kind. 58 [Its inhabitants will say], "This is a company bursting in with you. No welcome for them. Indeed, they will burn in the Fire." 59 The followers will say, “In fact, for you! May you not get open space! It is you who brought this calamity upon us!” So what a wretched destination. 60 [And] they will pray: "O our Sustainer! Whoever has prepared this for us, double Thou his suffering in the fire!" 61 And they shall say: What is the matter with us that we do not see men whom we used to count among the vicious? 62 [and] whom we made the target of our derision? Or is it that [they are here, and] our eyes have missed them?" 63 Verily, that is the very truth, the mutual dispute of the people of the Fire! 64
