Say thou: I am but warner, and there is no god but Allah, the One, the Subduer. 65 Lord of the heavens and earth, and of what between them is, the All-mighty, the All-forgiving.' 66 Say: 'This is a mighty message 67 from which you turn away. 68 I had no knowledge of the higher Assembly when they discussed it among themselves. 69 Naught is revealed to me save that I am a plain warner. 70 When thy Lord said to the angels, 'See, I am creating a mortal of a clay. 71 After I have created him and breathed into him of My spirit, fall you down, prostrating yourselves to him.” 72 Then the angels, all of them, prostrated themselves before Adam 73 except Iblis who puffed himself up with pride and became a disbeliever. 74 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What prevented you from prostrating before one whom I have created with My hands*? Have you become proud or were you haughty from the beginning?” (Used as a metaphor). 75 He said: I am better than he: me Thou hast created of fire, and him Thou hast created of clay. 76 Allah said: get thee forth therefrom; verily thou art driven away. 77 My curse will remain upon you till the Day of Judgement!" 78 Satan said: “My Lord, then grant me respite till the Day that they are raised up.” 79 The Lord said, "You will only be given a respite 80 for an appointed time". 81 He said, "By Your Glory, I shall seduce all of them (children of Adam). 82 except for those among them who are Your chosen servants." 83 [And God] said: "This, then, is the truth! And this truth do I state: 84 Most certainly will I fill hell with thee and such of them as shall follow thee, all together!" 85 Say: "No reward do I ask of you for this (Qur'an), nor am I a pretender. 86 Lo! it is naught else than a reminder for all peoples 87 You will know the truth of the matter after a while.” 88
