Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful Allah: 2 a Book whose verses have been well-expounded; an Arabic Qur'an for those who have knowledge, 3 proclaiming good news and a warning. Yet most of them turn away and so do not listen. 4 And say: "Our hearts are immured against what you call us to. There is a deafness in our ears, and a veil lies between us and you. So act (your way), we are acting (ours)." 5 Say: "I am a man like you, (but) it is revealed to me that your God is one God, so take the straight path to Him, and ask Him to forgive your sins. Woe to the idolaters 6 who do not pay Zakah, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 Lo! as for those who believe and do good works, for them is a reward enduring. 8
