Elucidated (Fussilat)

54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

HA MIM. 1 This is a revelation from the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, 2 a Book whose revelations are well expounded, an Arabic Quran for people who possess knowledge, 3 It bears glad tidings and a warning, yet most of them turn away and do not listen. 4 And say: "Our hearts are immured against what you call us to. There is a deafness in our ears, and a veil lies between us and you. So act (your way), we are acting (ours)." 5 Say, "I am only a human being like yourselves. It has been revealed to me that your God is One God. So take the straight path to Him and ask His forgiveness." Woe to those who associate others with Him, 6 Those who practise not regular Charity, and who even deny the Hereafter. 7 (As for) those who believe and do good, they shall surely have a reward never to be cut off. 8
