Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 This is a revelation from the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate, 2 A Book whose verses have been detailed, an Arabic Qur'an for a people who know, 3 It bears glad tidings and a warning, yet most of them turn away and do not listen. 4 They say, 'Our hearts are veiled from what thou callest us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between us and thee there is a veil; so act; we are acting!' 5 Say, O [Muhammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allah - 6 who do not pay the zakat, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 For those who believe and work deeds of righteousness is a reward that will never fail. 8
