Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha Mim 1 By the manifest Book (that makes things clear, i.e. this Quran). 2 We have made it an Arabic Koran in order that you understand. 3 It (the Quran) exists in the original Book with Us which is certainly Most Exalted, full of wisdom and (beyond linguistic structures). 4 Shall We utterly ignore you because ye are a wanton folk? 5 How many a prophet did We send among the men of old! 6 And never came there a Prophet to them but they used to mock at him. 7 so We destroyed men stronger in valour than they, and the example of the ancients passed away. 8 Yet if you were to ask them: “Who created the heavens and the earth?” they will certainly say: “The All-Mighty, the All-Knowing has created them.” 9 He it is who has made the earth a cradle for you, and has provided for you ways [of livelihood] thereon, so that you might follow the right path. 10 And Who sends down water (rain) from the sky in due measure. Then We revive a dead land therewith, and even so you will be brought forth (from the dead), 11 And who created the species, all of them, and has made for you of ships and animals those which you mount. 12 so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, "Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves. 13 And to our Lord we shall surely return." 14 And they assign to Him a part of His servants; man, to be sure, is clearly ungrateful. 15
