Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Ha-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 By the manifest Book (that makes things clear, i.e. this Quran). 2 Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand. 3 And verily, [originating as it does] in the source, with Us, of all revelation, it is indeed sublime, full of wisdom. 4 Shall We utterly ignore you because ye are a wanton folk? 5 And how many Prophets We did send among the earlier people! 6 And there came not to them a prophet but they mocked at him. 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier in courage than they. And the example of the ancients has passed away. 8 Yet if you were to ask them: “Who created the heavens and the earth?” they will certainly say: “The All-Mighty, the All-Knowing has created them.” 9 Who hath made for you the earth a bed, and hath made for you paths therein that haply ye may be directed. 10 And (it is He), who sends down water from the sky in its measure thereby We revive the land that was dead, as such you shall be brought forth. 11 It is He who has created everything in pairs and the ships and cattle for you to ride, 12 That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it. 13 Hence, verily, it is unto Him that we must always turn." 14 But they have attributed to Him from His servants a portion. Indeed, man is clearly ungrateful. 15
