When Abraham said to his father and his people: "I am rid of what you worship 26 Other than Him who created me. He will show me the right way." 27 And Abraham left behind this word to endure among his posterity so that they may return to it. 28 Nay, but I gave (the good things of this life) to these (polytheists) and their fathers to enjoy, till there came to them the truth (the Quran), and a Messenger (Muhammad SAW) making things clear. 29 And when there came to them the truth they said: This is magic, and surely we are disbelievers in it. 30 And they say, too, "Why was not this Qur'an bestowed from on high on some great man of the two cities?" 31 Are they the distributors of your Lord’s mercy? We have distributed among them their comforts in the life of this world, and gave high status to some over others so that they mock at each other; and the mercy of your Lord is better than all what they hoard. 32 And were it not that all people had been a single nation, We would certainly have assigned to those who disbelieve in the Beneficent Allah (to make) of silver the roofs of their houses and the stairs by which they ascend. 33 And silver doors for their houses, and silver couches whereon they recline, 34 And ornaments of gold. Yet all that would have been but a provision of the life of the world. And the Hereafter with your Lord would have been for those who keep from evil. 35
