And indeed We saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment, 30 Inflicted by Pharaoh, for he was arrogant (even) among inordinate transgressors. 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 and gave them signs wherein there was a manifest trial. 33 Yet these say: 34 “This is our first and only death, and we shall never be raised again. 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
