And We delivered the Children of Israel from the shameful doom; 30 and from the Pharaoh. He was the chief of the transgressors. 31 and We chose them, out of a knowledge above the nations (of their time). 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 [Now,] behold, these [people] say indeed: 34 There is naught but our first death and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our fathers (back), if you are truthful. 36 Are they better, or the folk of Tubb'a and those before them? We destroyed them, for surely they were guilty. 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not. 39 Verily the Day of sorting out is the time appointed for all of them,- 40 the Day when a friend shall be of no avail to his friend nor shall they be helped, 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
