Kneeling (Al-Jaatheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha-Mim. 1 The sending down of the Book is from Allah, the Almighty, the Wise. 2 Indeed there are signs for believers in the heavens and the earth. 3 and in your creation, and the crawling things He scatters abroad, there are signs for a people having sure faith, 4 and in the succession of night and day, and in the means of subsistence which God sends down from the skies, giving life thereby to the earth after it had been lifeless, and in the circulation of the winds: [in all this] there are signs for people who use their reason. 5 Such are the Signs of Allah, which We rehearse to thee in Truth; then in what exposition will they believe after (rejecting) Allah and His Signs? 6 Alas the woe for every dissembling sinner 7 Who heareth the revelations of Allah recited unto him, and then continueth in pride as though he heard them not. Give him tidings of a painful doom. 8 And when he knoweth aught of Our revelations he maketh it a jest. For such there is a shameful doom. 9 Hell is behind them. Their worldly earnings shall not avail them, nor those whom they took as protectors instead of Allah. An awesome chastisement lies in store for them. 10 This is guidance. And those who disbelieve the revelations of their Lord, for them there is a painful doom of wrath. 11
