The Wall (Al-Hujuraat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Believers, do not be presumptuous with the Messenger of God (in your deeds and in your words). Have fear of God; He is All-hearing and All-knowing. 1 O ye who believe! raise not your voices above the voice of the Prophet, nor shout loud unto him in discourse as ye shout loud unto one another, lest your works may be rendered of non-effect, while ye perceive not. 2 The hearts of those who lower their voices in the presence of the Messenger of God are tested by God through piety. They will have forgiveness and a great reward. 3 Surely those who call unto thee from behind the apartments, the most of them do not understand. 4 If they had waited for you to come out it would have been better for them. But God is forgiving and kind. 5 Believers, if an evildoer brings you a piece of news, inquire first, in case you should unwittingly wrong others and then repent of what you have done. 6 And know that among you is Allah's Messenger: were he, in many matters, to follow your (wishes), ye would certainly fall into misfortune: But Allah has endeared the Faith to you, and has made it beautiful in your hearts, and He has made hateful to you Unbelief, wickedness, and rebellion: such indeed are those who walk in righteousness;- 7 by God's favour and blessing; God is All-knowing, All-wise. 8 If two parties of the believers happen to fight, make peace between them. But then, if one of them transgresses against the other, fight the one that transgresses until it reverts to Allah's command. And if it does revert, make peace between them with justice, and be equitable for Allah loves the equitable. 9 All believers are but brethren. Hence, [whenever they are at odds,] make peace between your two brethren, and remain conscious of God, so that you might be graced with His mercy. 10
