And We have already created man and know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than [his] jugular vein 16 When the two (angels) who keep the account, one sitting on the right, one on the left, take it down, 17 Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it). 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth: this is that which thou hast been shunning. 19 And the trumpet is blown. This is the threatened Day. 20 And every human being will come forward with [his erstwhile] inner urges and [his] conscious mind, 21 [It will be said], "You were certainly in unmindfulness of this, and We have removed from you your cover, so your sight, this Day, is sharp." 22 And his accompanying angel said, “This is the record of your deeds, available with me.” 23 (They will be told,) "Throw into hell every persistent disbelievers, 24 "Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment." 26 ۞ His accompanying devil said, “Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he himself was in extreme error.” 27 God will say, "Do not quarrel in My presence. I gave you the warning beforehand 28 The Word will not be changed in My presence, nor am I an oppressor at all unto My bondmen. 29
