And certainly We created man, and We know what his mind suggests to him, and We are nearer to him than his life-vein. 16 When the two Receivers receive (him), seated on the right hand and on the left, 17 Not a word he uttereth but there is with him a watcher ready. 18 and (the human being will be told), "This is what you had been trying to run away from". 19 And the Trumpet was blown; “This is the Day of the promised punishment.” 20 And every soul will come, with it a driver and a witness. 21 You were heedless of this, but now We have removed your veil, so your sight today is sharp. 22 And his companion, [the angel], will say, "This [record] is what is with me, prepared." 23 'Cast, you twain, into Gehenna every froward unbeliever, 24 who is an opponent of good, a suspicious transgressor 25 "Who set up another ilah (god) with Allah, then (both of you) cast him in the severe torment." 26 ۞ Man's other self' will say: "O our Sustainer! It was not I that led his conscious mind into evil [nay,] but it had gone far astray [of its own accord]! 27 He (Allah) will say: 'Do not dispute before Me. I sent you a warning beforehand. 28 “With Me, the decree does not change, and nor do I oppress the bondmen.” 29
