Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Woe to the liars 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
