Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
