Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
