Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
