Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23
