Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 and the partitioners, 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
