Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
